ASLA Newsletter – December 2015

Today, Tuesday December 1st, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

ASLA is mostly a volunteer-run organization that relies on donations to improve the lives of all affected by autism in Los Angeles County, by empowering individuals with autism, their families, and professionals through advocacy, education, support, and community collaboration. Remember that all funds raised in LA stay in LA

ASLA highlights this month include:

ASLA’s 2016 “It’s a New Day, It’s a New Life: Preparing for Dramatic Changes in the Developmental Disabilities System” Conference is now OPEN!  Learn about the new Federal requirements for Inclusion and the Self-Determination Program.

A very warm “Thank-you” to Helen Kim Bass, the November ABLE Act information session was so informative – the feedback was wonderful!! Additional Thanks to  Kirari West bakery for their generous donation of Gluten -Free Pastries – they were delicious and as always Mychal’s Learning Place. Everyone left with so much more knowledge on 529A and Special Needs Trusts! December will see our Speaker Series go “lights-out” but we will be back in January.
