Autism Society of Los Angeles’ core competency is education. Autism Society of Los Angeles has a proven track record of education across the community from self-advocates, families, caregivers and professionals.
Self Determination
Autism Society of Los Angeles has trained thousands of parents and individuals on new Self-Determination Law through conferences and training sessions. Additionally, ASLA has trained over 600 people to serve as Independent Facilitators in the program supporting four languages.
Independent Facilitator Mentorship Project
Every month, ASLA has a guest speaker presenting a topic that is relevant to our community. Past topics include Self Determination, Vendors, Summer Programs, Navigating options for Young Adults etc.

Conferences
Autism Society conducts major conferences with thousands of attendees on issues of concern to the community, including adult housing and employment, education and self-determination, to increase education and advocacy skills across the community.

Training Sessions
Autism Society of Los Angeles provides a selection of trainings for medical and mental health professionals, schools, student organizations, support groups, disability support organizations private corporations, organizations, and churches etc. These promote inclusion, equity, create empathy and build bridges with the community.
